Dr. Benedict Carpenter van Barthold
Principal
Benedict is a sculptor, academic, and custodian of creative legacies.
His practice has been recognised by the Jerwood Sculpture Prize and exhibited at the Venice Biennale. Alongside his studio and exhibition experience, he brings two decades of leadership in higher education to the practice.
An active contributor to public scholarship, Benedict writes on visual culture for publications including The Conversation. His academic research spans historical iconography, book and exhibition reviews, and essays on contemporary artists such as Cathie Pilkington and James Castle.
At Bellori, Benedict uses this background as both maker and scholar to express the complexities of physical creative practice as a permanent, sovereign digital record.
